In Memory of an Empty Tomb

Here is a poem I wrote (though it is not a strict, in the lines poem) a while ago. I was reminded of it, the other day, when we were at a Easter egg hunt. I'm posting this poem in memory of what the Lord did for us on Easter.

Paid For

By

Christine Smith

Death defied, life renewed

The glory of the sun undone

The earth cries out calling his name

Our wild hearts finally tamed

A world of pain and unending deceit

A tug of temptation we cannot defeat

A cry of sorrow and of remorse

No power to remove the undying force

An undeserving soul forgiveness now receives

An eternal home to these who believe

A voice of Joy shatters the pain

For through his power he will forever reign.

Behold the power of the cross

A bloody war fought for us

The price paid for a life of Grace

For on the cross he took our place
